چکیده
Purpose: Stroke is one of the most common causes disability because functional, cognitive, and psychological issues. Motor deficits in afflicted upper extremity affect about 50% stroke survivors. To evaluate effects modified constraint-induced movement therapy(mCIMT) on hemiparetic right/left limb functions quality life(QOL).
Materials Methods: In this prospective, randomized, controlled single-blind study, 40 patients were assigned to right-mCIMT(n=10), left-mCIMT(n=10), or control(n=20). mCIMT was applied 4h/day, 2 weeks, 10-sessions. A conventional rehabilitation program all patients. Patients evaluated using Fugl-Meyer Assessment(FMA), Activity Log(MAL), Impact Scale(SIS), Box-Block Test(BBT), number repetitions shaping exercises, duration task exercise.
Results: There a statistically significant improvement FMA left-mCIMT group(p

Effect of mirror therapy on upper extremity motor function in stroke patients: a randomized controlled trial
[Purpose] This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of mirror therapy combined with a conventional rehabilitation program on upper extremity motor and functional recovery in stroke patients. [Subjects and Methods] Thirty-one hemiplegic patients were included. The patients were randomly assigned to a mirror (n=16) or conventional group (n=15). The patients in both groups underwent conventio...
متن کاملEffects of Game-Based Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy on Balance in Patients with Stroke: A Single-Blind Randomized Controlled Trial.
OBJECTIVE The aims of this work were to determine whether game-based constraint-induced movement therapy (CIMT) is effective at improving balance ability in patients with stroke, and to provide clinical knowledge of game-based training that allows application of CIMT to the lower extremities. DESIGN Thirty-six patients with chronic stroke were randomly assigned to game-based CIMT (n = 12), ge...
متن کاملA placebo-controlled trial of constraint-induced movement therapy for upper extremity after stroke.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Constraint-Induced Movement therapy (CI therapy) is a neurorehabilitation technique developed to improve use of the more affected upper extremity after stroke. A number of studies have reported positive effects for this intervention, but an experiment with a credible placebo control group has not yet been published. METHODS We conducted a placebo-controlled trial of CI ...
متن کاملThe Effect of Modified Constraint Induced Movement Therapy on Upper Extremity Function In a Patient Suffering From Chronic Severe Acquired Brain Injury: A Case Study
Objective: The primary objective of this case study was to investigate the effect of modified constraint-induced movement therapy on upper extremity function in a patient with severe acquired brain injury after 4 years. Material & method: A 33 years old women (F.Z), who had a severe acquired brain injury (ABI) 4 years ago participated in the present study. The right hand was the dominan...
متن کاملRehabilitation of stroke patients with plegic hands: Randomized controlled trial of expanded Constraint-Induced Movement therapy.
PURPOSE To evaluate the efficacy of an expanded form of Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy (eCIMT) that renders CIMT, originally designed for treating mild-to-moderate upper-extremity hemiparesis, suitable for treating severe hemiparesis. METHODS Twenty-one adults ≥1 year after stroke with severe upper-extremity hemiparesis (with little or no capacity to make movements with the more-affected...
